The Grand Prix is an event ready tyre with the puncture protection of a Gatorskin and the winning performance of the top secret 'made in Germany' BlackChili compound. When combined with the tried and tested GP profile BlackChili offers minimal rolling resistance alongside outstanding grip and handling characteristics.
This tyre gets a narrower strip of the same PolyX breaker layer found in Gatorskin tyres to provide protection in the area where punctures are most likley to occur whilst retaining a compliant race ready casing. The GT version of the Grand Prix widens the strip to expand protection to the sidewalls for near Gatorskin levels of durability.
