The goal for the new Stumpjumper was simple - to create the ultimate trail bike. To achieve this, we focused on stiffness. We discovered that inconsistent readings of stiffness between the frame and the rider could create an unsteady ride. So, we got to work, examining the materials, shapes, and layout of the bike.

We undertook our very own mountain-specific stiffness test and took a deep dive into the layout through Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Our findings led us to a 20% more efficient frame design that went on to be one of the lightest trail frames available on the market.

The innovative sidearm design prominently connects the front-end and rear-end at three points, ensuring superior stiffness and stability while reducing overall weight. The custom Rx Trail Tune on both the fork and rear shock makes for individually tuned rides that land in the middle of the adjustment spectrum, optimized for any wheel size.

As well as impressive riding capabilities, the bike was designed to be incredibly low-maintenance. From the triumphant return of threaded bottom brackets to accommodating tyres of up to 3.0", you also have the freedom to utilise any aftermarket rear shock, thanks to its use of standard metric shocks. Furthermore, the revamped SWAT box is sleeker, lighter and more voluminous, making it a versatile, easy-to-use addition.

The Stumpjumper also provides a customisable experience with its Flip Chip design. This allows you to tailor the bike to your riding style by switching it from High to Low, which drops your bottom bracket 6mm and slackens the head tube by half-a-degree. Expect to be surprised by additional features, such as a uniquely designed ribbed chainstay protector that eliminates chain slap, creating an almost silent drivetrain, as well as a super-easy and streamlined cable routing for carbon models.

Lastly, the build features top-quality components. A full SRAM GX1 Eagle drivetrain, SRAM Guide R disc brakes, RockShox front and rear suspension (150/150mm of travel respectively), and Roval Traverse Carbon 27.5 wheels ensure smooth and enjoyable rides with this bike.
