This innovative layup schedule has allowed us to reduce the frame weight by nearly 20%, making it ideal for your next hill climb PR.We have further enhanced our Rider-First Engineered technology to ensure that the new Tarmac is both stiff and compliant in the right places, while also shedding weight. The geometry of the Tarmac has been updated using Retül data points and professional rider input, resulting in a performance road geometry that combines a responsive front-end and a short wheelbase for instant response and optimal power transfer.To optimize the ride quality, we have designed a seatpost that adds compliance into the upper 120mm where clamping doesn't occur. We have also dropped the seatstays and modified the seat tube shape. Additionally, the Tarmac offers tyre clearance up to 30mm, allowing for lower pressures and increased comfort. These features maintain the Tarmac's race-machine performance while reducing the impact of road imperfections.We understand that aerodynamics play a crucial role in enhancing speed. That's why we have focused on adding aero benefits without compromising the Tarmac's design. Through extensive research, we have identified three areas to improve aerodynamics - a new fork shape, dropped seatstays with aero tubes, and a D-shaped seatpost and seat tube. These enhancements make the Tarmac approximately 45 seconds faster over 40km compared to other lightweight bikes in its category.The Tarmac Comp is ready to race straight out of the box, equipped with a Shimano Ultegra 8000 mechanical groupset, DT R460 wheels, and 26mm Turbo Pro tyres for a smooth and exhilarating ride.
