Unlike traditional disc wheels, the 321 disc breaks the mold with a singular layer of high-cost 1k carbon fibre on both sides of the wheel, nailed together at the brake track bridge. This type of carbon fibre, rarely used due to its high production cost, offers multiple benefits, including, remarkable lightness and great strength.
Contrary to common belief, higher stiffness doesn't inherently mean efficient power transfer. Our advanced field testing reveals that too much stiffness can result in brake rub issues. Therefore, the 321 disc wheel is designed not only with perfect aerodynamic shape but prioritized internal stiffness balance to avoid that problem.
Aerodynamics was our central focus whilst keeping the overall weight to a minimum. Using extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and hours of testing in the Win Tunnel, we have fashioned a novel and efficient shape which optimizes on-bike airflow. The result is an ultra-light, all-carbon disc wheel where its non-drive-side shape redefines aerodynamics according to our current knowledge, and the drive-side shape remains as aerodynamic as possible considering wheel-dish and derailleur clearances.
For optimal watt-saving, we've integrated CeramicSpeed bearings and DT Swiss 240 hub internals into the wheel hub. Every 321 Disc wheel comes 2Bliss-Ready out of the box and is accompanied by a padded wheel bag, quick-release, tubeless valve, and SwissStop Black Prince brake pads, revealing its top-tier quality.
