Our Human Performance Team initiated the development of Power Cranks by examining cyclists in various plausible riding scenarios. Traditional power meters have been verified using two methods - one involved the measurement of the produced torque by applying a static, linear load on a crankarm or chainring, while the other required the use of a power-generating motor to pedal the bike. As cycling is neither static nor linear and power application by humans significantly differs from machines, we discovered that neither technique sufficiently addressed the issue of real-world accuracy.

We developed our proprietary cycling treadmill, the WinMill to accurately measure power output. Recommended for all riding conditions including seated versus standing, diverse power and cadence levels, varying weights and a wide range of gear, this new benchmark enables us to comprehensively evaluate accuracy. Our meticulous testing process and external validation from the Locomotion lab in Boulder, Colorado has proven that the Power Cranks have unmatched accuracy in real-world scenarios, boasting a rating of +/- 1.5%.

Not stopping at performance, we've ensured that Power Cranks are user-friendly with top-rated temperature compensation firmware and waterproof enclosures. They need calibration only for major temperature fluctuations and the complimentary wrench makes battery replacements easy.
