And let's not forget that with its "ST" designation, this Stumpjumper offers slightly steeper angles and less suspension (130mm front/120mm rear), resulting in agile and responsive climbing ability and remarkable descending prowess.Our objective in designing the new Stumpjumper was simple: create the ultimate trail bike, one that feels intuitive. And it turns out that this feeling is all about stiffness. When the frame sends conflicting messages to your hands and feet, your brain becomes confused and the bike feels unstable. To address this, we focused on optimizing the materials, shapes, and layout.We developed our own mountain-specific stiffness test, and then used Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to identify areas where we could achieve significant improvements in stiffness. This led to a major breakthrough: the Large and X-Large frames required more front-end stiffness, while the Smalls and Mediums were already good. We were able to design a frame that was 20% more efficient, resulting in one of the lightest trail frames on the market today.To meet our stiffness targets, we introduced a revolutionary new sidearm design. The front-end and rear-end are connected at three points, and the sidearm ensures that all these points remain rigid and connected, even when the rear suspension is active. This minimizes frame flex and enhances suspension performance.We also paid close attention to suspension performance. Each bike is equipped with a custom Rx Trail Tune for the fork and rear shock. Since suspension performance depends on frame, wheel, and rider size, we use our Rx Tune to achieve a balanced suspension setup for each bike, giving you maximum adjustability to fine-tune your ride. We also developed a specific Rx Tune for each wheel size, ensuring perfectly linear suspension regardless of your preference.We didn't overlook practicality when designing this bike. Threaded bottom brackets have made a triumphant return, and there is clearance for up to a 3.0-inch tire. You have the freedom to use any aftermarket rear shock you desire, as we have incorporated standard metric shock sizing. We also enhanced the SWAT box, making it lighter, sleeker, and more spacious. And for further customization, we added a Flip Chip that allows you to adjust your Stumpy to suit your riding style. Switching it from High to Low drops the bottom bracket by 6mm and slackens the head tube by half-a-degree. We have also paid attention to the smaller details, such as a redesigned ribbed chainstay protector that eliminates chain slap and significantly reduces drivetrain noise. Additionally, cable routing is a breeze on the carbon models, with full tubes throughout the frame simply push the cable through and it will come out the other end. No more fuss with loops, magnets, spokes, or pillows.The Comp model comes with top-quality components, including a 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, SRAM Guide R disc brakes, a FOX FLOAT Rhythm 34 fork with 130mm of travel, a FOX FLOAT DPS rear shock with 120mm of travel, and Roval Traverse 29 wheels.
